Simple Pleasures

So I apologize ahead of time if any parents do what I'm about to complain about. I may just not understand were these parents are coming from.

So John was out of town this weekend so the kids & I went out to dinner with the folks on Friday night at Nandos. The large group of people sitting next to us had a few kids with them. The kids were all sitting together at the table WATCHING A MOVIE! They had a portable DVD player and they were watching Spiderman. At first I thought, hey thats a great way to keep the kids quiet at a restaurent. Ya sure a great way to keep them entertained, but definitley not quiet. The movie would get so loud in the fighting scenes and the kids weren't even watching it. They were being loud 'cause they were all sitting together and trying to talk over the movie. And by the way, these kids weren't any older that 10 watching Spiderman. Seemed to me this movie might be a bit too scary for their age group. Anyway, I was totally annoined at the movie being so loud (and I'm not the type of person to get annoyed easily) then my mom gets my attention to look at Boston. There my child is sitting at our table in his own little world with the the fork and spoon making them dance.

What has this world come to? Seriously. No manners anywhere anymore. Good movie, I just watched it recently.

Cute! Boston is a perfect example of how children should be entertained. We didn't have portable TV's growing up and we did just fine in restaurant. I agree that some kids get a litte bored easily but there are so many other ways to entertain them than that. Those parents should have considered the people around them. I definately agree with you on this one. I'm glad to see that Boston was so easily entertained. Benny and Joon... gosh haven't seen that one in forever!
