Louisiana

While my family was in town we decided we needed to take a trip to Louisiana since we have never been. While there we took a swamp tour. Awesome!

We contacted a tour guide listed online but he was full that day and referred us to what he said was the second best guide on Caddo Lake. So off to Cecil's house we went. Off to the boat.
Leaving the "dock".

Ran across a steam boat ferry on the way.
Becca and Dad.

Little bro Joe and I.
Keeping our eyes peeled for alligators.
Government Ditch was created during the Civil War to transport items through the lake. The government annually takes a boat to drag out the area keeping it clear for boats to travel.
Government Ditch.
This area behind Becca is a popular alligator area. Cecil said that a 15 foot alligator named Fred is usually spotted around here. We thought maybe he was pulling our leg at first until he pointed out the alligator tracks through the lilly pads and on the muddy banks. It was big! Unfortunately we never got to see Fred though.
This picture is TERRIBLE of me but John looks good. It was hot and muggy. We were all gross and sweaty. It was worth it though.
Cecil our tour guide. He was so fun! He had a thick Texas accent and wore a cut off camo vest. His name was also tattooed on his arm. Awesome!

Caddo Lake was actually on the boarder of Texas and Louisiana so the next day went in to Shreveport.

That night Bec, dad and Joe wanted to go to the rodeo in Fort Worth so we had to be back for that.
